Play Reminders

First Grade Parents,

The First Grade Musical is right around the corner.  Thank you to everyone who has been able to help out so far.  We still need help with a few things in order to make this a success.  Please read below and help by sending in the items needed and please consider volunteering to help out if you can!

· You should have received a letter explaining what your child will wear for his or her costume.  Please send in the t-shirt or other designated clothing items for your child’s costume by Monday, March 21st so we can organize and label them.  You do not need to send in the jeans if he or she is an animal, just the solid colored t-shirt.

· We will be collecting fresh fruits and vegetables to display on our farm set during the musical.  Please see below which item your child’s class is assigned.  After the musical, we will donate those items to the Cooking Club who will use the fruits and vegetables to make meals to give to families who might otherwise go without food.  So your donation is not just for our musical, but it will go towards a wonderful cause!  Please consider sending in whatever you are able to donate.  Please send in your donations by Monday, March 28th.
       - Ms. Ashley’s Class- Large carrots
       - Ms. Brandenburg’s Class- Apples
       - Ms. Brantley’s Class- Potatoes
       - Ms. Green’s Class- Onions
       - Ms. Pierce’s Class- Radishes or Squash (Butternut, Winter, etc.)

· We have 3 moms from older grades that will take pictures of the actual musical dress rehearsal, but we need 1 mom (parent) per class to take candid photos of the kids after they get dressed in their classrooms on March 29th.  You need a good quality camera- DSLR.  If you are willing and interested, you can contact Lindsey Pollack for more details.

· In addition to the 3 moms that are already taking pictures during the dress rehearsal, we would love to have about 3 first grade moms who like to take pictures volunteer and help them during the rehearsal- this can be some of the same moms who take candid shots in the classroom if you are willing!  We hope you can see what/how they do it and maybe will be interested in helping in the future since these moms will be leaving the school soon when their children graduate elementary school.  Again, if you are interested, please contact Lindsey Pollack.

· We have a parent volunteer who will put together the photos from the dress rehearsal of the musical onto a photo DVD and print photos for selling.  We need two-three people to volunteer to help sell these photos at a table outside of each performance on March 31st.  You do not have to sit at the table during the performance, but we will need help manning the tables before and after each.  Please let Lindsey know if you can help at any of the following on March 31st:
       - 9:00 am
       - 10:15 am
       - 7:00 pm

Thank you SO much for all of your help to make this a success.  Our first graders and Ms. Granger, Ms. Pinneau and their interns are working SO hard to make this a great show!

Please contact me if you are able to help with any of our needs or have any questions at all!
