Parent Breakfast/ Book
Parade
This
Thursday the First Grade Teachers will be participating in CGI training. We
will have substitutes for the first half of the day. We understand this
conflicts with the First Grade Parent Breakfast and the Book Character Parade
and wanted to give you a heads up. We are sorry we will miss the opportunity to
connect and hope you will enjoy these special events!
Pictures went home this
week!!
The
sample photo on the form your child brings home is one of several photos
available to you. You may view other pictures online. Once you've
decided what you wish to purchase, please complete the order form and return it
to school with the payment. PLEASE NOTE THAT CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE
PAYABLE TO: Blue Eyed Elephant Photography. New students and
students who were absent on photo day will have a chance to have their photos
taken October 29th.
DA$H
FOR EXCELLENCE -- RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!
Our
annual Da$h for Excellence is just around the corner. October 4th will
be the Kick-Off Assembly at school. Look for the DA$H
packet to come home that day with all the information you will need to begin
getting sponsors right away. The students will run the Da$h on Friday,
October 18th. It will be an exciting day for the students. Each
student will receive a t-shirt the morning of the run. We encourage you
to come watch your child and cheer them all on.
This
year all proceeds from the DA$H will be used for a Media Center Makeover.
We're very excited to make our media center a welcoming place a learn,
read, and discover. The Da$h promises to be exciting and filled with a
few new surprises! Be on the lookout as you never know what (or who) will
be around the corner!
Volunteers
are needed to assist with the day of the DA$H! Please consider helping! Simply
click the link for instructions to sign up. Contact Amy at amylange@bellsouth.net if you have any
problems signing up.
The Oconee County School District is
proud to inform you that Safety Entrances have been placed at
all schools. With this added security, ALL parents must sign
in using the computer at the side office window. Once you have signed in,
you will be "buzzed" through the security doors. When you leave
school, you must sign out at the window as well. The regular office door will
remain locked at all times. Thank you for your help and understanding
with these new security measures.
